The Empire of Britannia has invaded Japan using giant robot weapons called Knightmare Frames. Japan is now referred to as Area 11, and its people the 11's. A Britannian who was living in Japan at the time, Lelouch, vowed to his Japanese friend Suzaku that he'd destroy Britannia. Years later, Lelouch is in high school, but regularly skips out of school to go play chess and gamble on himself. One day, he stumbles on terrorists 11's who've stolen a military secret and is caught by a member of the Britannian task force sent after them, who is Suzaku. As the rest of the squad arrives, Suzaku is shot for disobeying orders, while the military secret, a young girl, gives Lelouch the power of Geass, which makes anyone obey any order. While Suzaku is secretly made the pilot of Britannia's brand new prototype Knightmare, Lancelot, Lelouch becomes the masked Zero to lead the rebellion to destroy Britannia once and for all.
Hannah's comments: As far, I have seen 23 episodes. Can´t wait for the rest, and especially it has been annonced that a second season is coming. I think this series has got a very good combination of historical things (clothes, moments), sci-fi, and mecha. It´s always good to have seen lots of animé, you can refer to other animé and people know what you talk about, and might be interested as well. The robots reminds me of the robots in Fullmetal Panic, in some way, other ways more like in Zegapain. The histoical thing, the "usual" stuff, two states/countries fights each other. The funny thing, they all talk Japanese, but from different countries.
Clothing, how on earth can they fight in, say 17th century clothes? And how on Earth always schoolboys involved (and girls?). Besides all unanswered (you shouldn´t ask questions) the series is good. It takes a while to get into it, say 5 episodes, but then you are stuck. Quite a nice emotional battle between Lelouch and his emotions, and also inside Suzaku. A little battle between Suzaku and Lelouch. What do I like most? Well...the psychological thing. I guess. And, yes, the gunfighting, and mechabattles. Sorry guys, but you "shall" know by now, I like mechabattles. Backgroundmusic has good quality as well, does the series even better. Animation mostly good, but lacks once in a while. I dislike the Princess´s Euphemia clothing and voice. Not so much the personality, but I would say, deeper voice, more "princessclass" over it, has done the character good. Favorite character...hmm...hard...I think I skip that. Watch the animé!!
Hannah's comments no 2: Finally ( end November, beginning December) I have seen the two last episodes. What I think? Well, except that the animation went too messy sometimes and in one second was right in the middle of the wararea and in the other second was inside for instance a schoolbuilding, the two remaining episodes contain 40 minutes of war, the rest of the five-ten minutes contain some deep thoughts and handling about some single persons lifes and the human beeing itself. The question Lelouch still got, is, who murdered his mother? There is no happy ending nor a sad, there are only some thoughts for YOU to think of, for YOUR very own life. Except those deep things, as I said before, watch the animé, especially if you like flying robots.
