Hannah's comments: Quite surprised there is a tv-series which contains so many chapters, and also DVDs after the series. Even if I haven't seen "The Lord of the rings", I think Fushigi, is very similar, in an opposite way. Here they search for "the power" , instead of destroying it. Fushigi, isn't a sci-fi, definitely more like fantasy with much humour, "war" between the evil side and the good side, and some love and friendship problems. I really, really like the animation of a special face- and scene-expression, it's in a way childish cartooned and only one or two pictures of it. Backgroundmusic and sounds fit good, especially when the one (two) picture (s) is/are explained. One bad thing, is that the boxes and later DVDs are expensive. I certainly looking forward to the future of the Fushigi Ygi.
Hannah's comments: The series go better and better, after each episode towards the 52nd one. In this box, you really get involved in warriors, friendship, emotional things AND magical power. Especially the magical powers are radically shown here. The story is excellent switch between the book of "the Universe of the four Gods" and the real world, where Miaka and Yui come from. If you have any unanswered questions how all the characters get into the Fushigi Ygi, you will certainly after the 52nd episode know. A little warning to sensitive persons, have a handkerchief ready for your eyes and nose! I have to go on with all the rest of DVDs which are released .
But old enemies have returned from beyond the grave to claim their revenge, and this time it is Tamahome who is drawn into the book to become one of the Seiryu Seven ?! Now Yui, Keisuke, and Tetsuya must discover how the book was opened, while Miaka and Tamahome, now known as Taka, race to relearn how to survive in the Mysterious Play!.

Hannah's comments: This box was a bit different than the earlier boxes. Most funny in this box were all short seconds of anime which were cut down because of wrong phrases were said. The big line through those episodes were love and hate. You also had to remember what happened in earlier boxes, since some of the characters who only were mentioned before are more "visible" here. The storymakers could have stopped the story after the 52nd episode (last episode in the Seiryu box), you wouldn't feel there was a strange ending, if ... What I mean, it felt a little "what kind of story shall we create now?" during watching those episodes. But still very funny. I think I will see/have the very last one as well, Eikoden, even if I think "this is it" of fushigi Ygi " now.
Miaka and Taka are now happily married and expecting their first child. Unfortunately, Mayo, a jealous young girl infatuated with Taka finds the Universe of the Four Gods and uses the power of Suzaku to steal their unborn baby! Now Taka must return to Konan to save his new family andi save Konan from an unknown menace that threatens to destroy the book and all that live within.

Hannah's comments: The four episodes of this last box go too fast through the story. I usually think the opposite way, that it had been better if the series (or film) was cut, but this time, I think Eikoden had been much, much better if it contained at least eight episodes. The total length, not even 2 hours, is far away from good. you don't understand how actually Mayo is connected to Taka and Miaka, only that Mayo in a strange way have fallen deeply in love in Taka. Why is suddenly the Suzaku "God" becoming evil?? Why are the dead persons of the former "Suzaku-gang" becoming reborn? This box contains nearly zero humour. Quite happy that the story (finally!) definitely ends here.
